Q. How do I find Film Reviews?

You can find film reviews & film criticism online and in print resources at Alkek Library. Be sure to use quotation marks for title phrases (ex. "eyes wide shut") to find the most relevant results.

1. Begin with Start Your Research

Start Your Research is a resource that allows you to search the Library Catalog, selected databases, and more from the Library's collections.

You will get a result list with a mixture of Library books & ebooks, journal, magazines, and newspaper articles.  You can adjust the screen filters to only display results that have the full-text of the available article, or only show certain types of resources.

2. Search Library Databases

You might need to search in one of the many databases available through the library's website for more in-depth information.  The Theater & Performing Arts database list, the Newspaper databases, and possibly the Literature and Language databases would be good places to start.

3. Search the Library Catalog

These are materials on film in the library collections that include indices, books with film reviews & criticism, scripts, and reference books. Some of these materials are located in the Reference Collection on the 2nd floor, and these books cannot be checked out. Other books are located upstairs in the regular collection on 5th (A-J), 6th (K-Q), and 7th floors (R-Z).  Use the Library Catalog to locate books in the library collections. The Catalog also has links to online eBooks as well.
