In most instances, partial information from a citation will be enough to lead you back to the article. Most databases allow users to search by article title, journal title, or author name. Advanced searches will allow users to search more than one of these aspects so the more information the better, though one piece may be a good enough start. Further, there will be options to apply filters on the list of returns. Here you may be able to add more information from the citation to narrow the field toward the desired article.
