Alkek Library has a large collection of journals. Journals may be available in print, online, microfilm, or microfiche formats.

Current print periodicals are located at the Alkek Library on the 3rd floor.  Current journals and magazines are arranged by title.

The majority of print and microform bound journals are located at the Archives and Research Center (ARC). https://www.library.txstate.edu/arc.html

Patrons may:

  • Request that print and microform journals be shipped to a library facility (such as Alkek Library or Round Rock Library).
  • Request that an article be scanned and sent electronically.
  • View or checkout the print/microform journal at the ARC (open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm).

Requests for journals to be delivered to the Alkek or RRC libraries or for individual articles to be scanned can be made via the journal’s record in the online library catalog.  Note, microform must be acclimatized for ~24 hours before being scanned or transferred to another facility.
