Alkek Library has KIC (Knowledge Imaging Center) scanners available on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floors of the library. Scanning is free. The scanner allows emailing or saving files to a USB drive. Scans can be made in black and white, grey scale and in color. Documents can be saved in several formats (such as jpg, and pdf). In the Digitization Lab, here in Alkek, we use a camera capture setup - though a large flatbed scanner. If you have other digitization needs, please contact digital resources team using this link.

The scanners in the library are free to use.

You can ask for assistance in using the scanner at the Ask Alkek Desk on the main floor of Alkek Library.

RRC Library has a scanner that will scan documents, front and back as well as in color, and send a PDF or image file to any valid e-mail address. Texas State University users can then access their e-mail and print the document in black and white or in color assuming the user has available printing credits. Ask for assistance at the RRC Library's Information Desk.
